Duprez & Le Bars is extended until Feb 23 !!!

We have a marvellous exhibition of the French artist couple Alexandra Duprez and Jean-Pierre Le Bars. Duprez is already an international star. We have successfully taken her to international art fairs several times. But she exhibits – through galleries or on her own – in all kinds of world cities. Le Bars is less well known, but his art is at least as high-quality and of international standard.

Duprez’s work is intuitive and pictorial. Related to art brut but her approach is completely different. Le Bars’ paintings look graphic and are rhythmic but are very friendly at the same time.Design poster: Max Kisman

In the video rooms: Margreet Kramer

In the video rooms we regularly program video art or documentary work in support of the large exhibition. But these spaces also offer us the opportunity to show video art separate from the exhibition. This time it is the work of the Amsterdam artist Margreet Kramer.
Her experimental video art is about sublimated or non-sublimated actions/rituals of everyday life. She often literally zooms in with her camera. The physical presence in the videos makes the vulnerability of the human body visible. Contact and touch are an important aspect. Not what we do but how we do it. Her films are shown and awarded at international film festivals. In the video rooms we show a number of her earlier and recent works about these aspects and experiences.
