Zaida Oenema

Lives and works in The Hague. Zaida Oenema translates everyday quintessential human sensations into reliefs. She draws, cuts, burns and folds, using tools such as a pencil, pigments, scalpel or a soldering iron on paper. The works involve concentration and extreme precision using rhythmic, repetitive meticulous physical actions. The resulting interplay of light, movement, structure and rhythm plays an important role in the completion of each work. We took Zaida with us to Art on Paper Amsterdam 2023 and to Paper Positions Berlin in 2024. Both very successful. Zaida is an international as she (also) is a frequent player in San Francisco (US).
